1st shift Coating Helper/UV
Description:
This role supports the manufacturing process by staging, prepping, and moving poles for the coating and painting process. The Coating Helper assists in material handling using both cranes and forklifts, ensuring efficient workflow between departments and safe transportation of poles. Additionally, this role contributes to process improvements across the department in collaboration with the Continuous Improvement team.
M-F 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Saturday - 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
Duties/Responsibilities
• Assist in staging poles for the coating and painting processes.
• Move large poles using cranes and forklifts, depending on size and location.
• Prepare poles for transfer to other plants, including packaging and staging.
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure timely movement of materials.
• Support manufacturing efficiency by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
• Assist with identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or production leads.
Required Skills/Abilities
• Forklift and crane operation training (or willingness to obtain certification).
• Basic understanding of safe material handling practices.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Physically able to move and handle large objects safely.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent operation of forklifts or cranes.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
